A magnificent, fine and impressive, antique George V English sterling silver cream/water jug; an addition to our silver holloware collection. This magnificent antique George V sterling silver jug has a circular rounded form onto a circular pedestal foot. The upper portion of this antique cream jug is embellished with an impressive applied strapwork band, in addition to a large fluted design to the underside of the lip, all in the Empire style. This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast spiralling handle accented with an impressive figural mask design. The circular spreading foot is embellished with further Empire style, architectural decoration. Such examples in this medial size is a redeeming and unusual factor; this versatile jug could be considered to be a small water jug or large cream jug. This magnificent jug is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. Condition This antique water/cream jug is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George III English sterling silver beer/water jug; part of our dining silverware collection This exceptional antique Georgian sterling silver beer jug has a plain baluster form onto a circular spreading foot. The body of this impressive antique silver jug is embellished with an impressive engraved scrolling leaf bodered coat of arms depicting on a fess three five-pinted stars between three griffens' heads erased. This impressive example of Georgian silverware is fitted with a cast sterling silver S scroll handle ornamented with an impressive scrolling leaf thumbpiece and bifurcating lower scrolling terminal. The cast beak style spout of the jug is embellished with a vase-shaped moulding to the nadir. The circular spreading foot is embellished with bands of tooled decoration. Note: The London Assay Office have missing records in the Smallworkers' Register (1739-1758) and Largeworkers' Register (1758-1773), and it can be determined that this maker's mark was registered within this timeframe. However John King became free from his apprenticeship August 1757, and it can be determined there is a high probability that this maker's mark associates to him. Condition This 18th century jug...
