$423.06

About the Item

This is a rare shape vase, made by Mason's Ironstone, England, in the early 19th century, late Georgian period, circa 1818. This vase has a rarely found shape and is a very early Mason's piece. It has one of the rarer patterns called "Chinese Dragon" as documented on page 116 of "A Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns, circa1813-1848," published by The Masons Collectors' Club. The pattern would have been transfer printed in black then hand painted with the shades of green and a gilded upper rim. The base has the early impressed mark " Masons Patent Ironstone China" in two lines, which date this piece to the earliest period, circa 1813 to 1820. Overall, a Rare early piece in a sought after pattern.
