About the Item

This is a good hand painted Mason's ironstone small oval dish, in the table and flowerpot gilded pattern, from their earliest George IIIrd period, circa 1818. The piece is well potted with a small oval shape having moulded edges and standing on a low foot. It is well painted in the recorded chinoiserie pattern called the: table and flowerpot pattern, showing a golden flower vase by a small table with a swan sitting on a nest. The pattern is hand enamelled, over-glaze in colors of burnt orange, yellow, brown, blue, green, and pink over an under-glaze printed outline, with gold gilding to one side of the vase and part of the edge. The piece is fully marked to the base with a Mason's large crown and banner printed mark color washed in green, together with the single line impressed mark stating: Masons Patent ironstone China, which date this piece to circa 1818. Overall a very decorative small dish.
