This is a highly decorative, ironstone, twin handled circular footed Bowl by John Ridgway, dating to the English William 1Vth period, circa 1835 . The bowl has been carefully hand-painted in bold colorful enamels with a chinoiserie pattern of three oriental people travelling on a boat, pattern number 5057. It is also richly hand gilded. John Ridgway operated at his father’s celebrated Cauldon Place works, Shelton, Hanley, England, between 1830-1856, producing some fine porcelain and stone China of excellent quality. His stone China earthenwares and ironstone wares are discussed on page 305 of Godden's Guide to Ironstone, Stone and Granite Wares written by Geoffrey Godden for the Antique Collectors Club. This is a good Mason’s ironstone large dinner plate produced at the time when Mason's was owned and controlled by George L Ashworth and Brothers after the bankruptcy of C J Mason in 1848. This large plate is decorated in a the striking chinoiserie pattern called "Flying Bird" pattern, as illustrated on Page 121 of "A Guide to Mason's Patent Ironstone Patterns" published by The Mason's Collectors' Club. The pattern would have been transfer printed then boldly hand enameled with good detail. This is a stunning Sauce Tureen by Mason's Ironstone, Lane Delph, England in the rare Fence, Rock & Blue Willow hand painted gilded pattern, dating to the very early period of Mason's ironstone, circa 1818. This is a rare shaped Tureen Both the main body and lid are very well potted with moulded detail. The tureen base has two side handles. The lid has a shaped finial knob to the top and a side cut away for a serving spoon. It is decorated in one of Mason's beautiful hand painted chinoiserie fence patterns called; Fence, Rock and Blue Willow pattern...
