First Period Worcester porcelain coffee can and saucer,
This design is closely related to the Lord Henry Thynne and Earl Dalhousie patterns.
circa 1772-1775
The fluted Worcester porcelain coffee can and saucer are finely painted with a central reserve with a landscape scene with a flower and butterfly design surround. The border with a wet blue and gold rim. The saucer with a view of a river with two church steeples in the background and the cup with a "classical" temple ruin by a river.
Mark: open underglaze blue crescent on cup.
Reference: Worcester Porcelain: The Klepser Collection, Simon Spero, Page 126-127, #144 for a cider jug and coffee cup and saucer with the same design but with a slightly different gilt border design very similar decoration.

First Period Worcester Porcelain Holly Berry Pattern Teacup and Saucer, Hop Trellis Pattern,
Circa 1775.
The First Period Worcester porcelain teacup and saucer has a reeded French shape and is richly decorated with the Holly Berry pattern- a variation of the Hop Trellis pattern. Panels of purple plants alternate with berried foliage between borders of lilac diaper and gold herringbone and a lower border of white pearls on a bright turquoise ground. There are gilt dentil rims and the inside of the cup has flowers and berried sprigs below a gold band.
Dimensions: Overall: 2 3/8 inches high x 5 1/4 inches wide; Saucer: 5 1/4 inch diameter x 1 inch high; Cup: 1 7/8 inches high x 4 inches wide x 3 3/8 inches deep. (overall 6.033 cm high x 13.34 cm wide)
