This is a stunning and unique antique Berlin framed porcelain plaque, circa 1870 in date. This magnificent plaque is oval in shape with an exquisite gilded cast and pierced ormolu frame which borders a spectacular central hand painted portrait of a delightful and charming young woman in costume. The young lady is depicted in bright vibrant colours and is finished in great detail to the highest of standards. She wears an intricate hat with beautiful shiny pearls and the various red and green nuances of her dress are shown in all their glory. The lady is featured against a gilded background, which adds extra elegance to this splendid piece. Add this beautiful item to your collection with this rare and unique piece to your collection. A Beautiful Late 19th century Berlin K.P.M. – Vienna style porcelain rectangular plaque of the five senses Signed Knoeller Finely painted after Hans Makart with the five vertical panels, each depicting a female nude against an exotic naturalistic background, emblematic of a senses, the reserves enriched with gilt stylized vine. Impressed K.P.M and scepter marks, painted blue Beehive mark, within a giltwood frame. Hans Makart, was an Austrian allegorical painter and designer (1840-1884) who trained at the Vienna Academy between 1850 and 1851 under Johann Fischbach. Makart rejected the established rules of classicism, preferring to embrace the sensual expression of color.
