About the Item

Bing & Grondahl Seagull coffee service set consists of coffee pot, creamer, and covered sugar bowl. Reliefs of scales on the rim and handles of the pieces and on the lids are shaded in pale blue with ombre effect; creamer and coffee pot have figural handles with sea animal shaped finger rests, and both lids have sea horse shaped handles. Coffee pot is decorated with two seagulls flying next to each other on front side, creamer is decorated with one seagull on front side, and sugar bowl - with one seagull on both front and back sides. All pieces are marked with green factory stamps that date back to 1952-1957, embossed underglaze blank numbers, green model numbers (189 on the creamer, 94 on sugar bowl and its lid, and 91A on coffee pot), and decorator initials. The pattern was created in 1892 and was continuously produced until 2011, well after Bing & Grondahl merged with Royal Copenhagen in 1987. The coffee pot is 9.7" high with the lid on, the creamer is 4.26" high, and the sugar bowl is 2.65" high when open and 4.5" - with the lid on. All pieces are in good vintage condition.
