Chinese Porcelain Plate for Export, Canton Decoration

Chinese porcelain plate for export. Canton decoration, blue and white, representing a river landscape with trees, pagoda and two figures on a bridge. Qing Dynasty, Daoguang reign (1820-1850).
In the center, an idyllic landscape, where classic Chinese architectural elements stand out, such as pagodas and traditional houses, surrounded by detailed vegetation and a serene natural setting. A bridge joins the two banks of the river where two figures watch the water flow.
The edge of the plate has decorative motifs with geometric and floral patterns. The blue used in the painting highlights the details and provides a strong contrast with the white porcelain background.
The quality of the painting, combined with the harmony of the decorative elements, reflects the skill and care of the artisans of the time. This piece highlights the cultural and commercial exchange between China and the West during the 19th century.
