Chinese porcelain and silver vase, Fabienne Jouvin France

About the Item

Exquisite and very refined Chinese porcelain vase decorated with a silver medallion, a work that combines the tradition of oriental porcelain with a contemporary and artisanal reinterpretation by French artist Fabienne Jouvin. The base of the vase, made of white porcelain hand-painted in China, reflects the delicacy and purity that characterizes this ancient tradition. The smooth, glossy enamel finish is the perfect canvas for contrasting with the delicate decorative silver medallion, which depicts a horse among oriental-inspired arabesques or vegetal scrolls. It has a rounded, slightly flared base, while the main body gently tapers toward the neck. The neck is tall and cylindrical, topped by a bulbous mouth. This design is reminiscent of traditional shapes of Chinese porcelain vessels, such as ping or hu vases, characterized by their softness and fluid transitions between different sections. Signature and stamp on the base of the piece, Fabienne Jouvin Paris. Fabienne Jouvin (1985–) Fabienne Jouvin, a graduate of the Duperré School of Applied Arts, is an artist known for reinterpreting porcelain with metallic elements and unique decorative details, redefining traditional techniques. She lives and works between Paris and Provence, although she draws inspiration from her frequent travels (Tokyo, Havana, the Maldives, Thailand, etc.). She works with a variety of media: textiles, porcelain, enamels, and more. This piece is an excellent example of her artistic sensibility. The incorporation of precious metals into her designs lends a contemporary aesthetic to a traditional art form, allowing the work to transcend eras and cultures. French Painting "Dahlias and Camellias" Paul Bazé, midcentury France
By Paul Robert Brock
Located in Valladolid, ES
Impressive and very beautiful oil on panel made by Paul Robert Bazé, an artist of French origin. It represents a still life with a bouquet of flowers in the foreground on a dark background. It mainly shows dahlias and camellias, which give the work its name. The traditional still life genre shows its evolution here. It presents the characteristic style of the genre to which it corresponds, realistic and meticulous, especially noticeable in the way it works with the different qualities of the flowers and leaves. The dark background is also inherited from the still life genre, with a marked dark interest reflected in the dark backgrounds. Signed in the lower left corner. Paul Robert Bazé (1901-1985) was born in Paris, although he soon moved to Bayonne and then to Bordeaux, where he was a student of Paul Quinsac...
