Painted porcelain plaque of woman flown aloft by swans English, 1884 Measures: Frame: Height 37cm, width 50cm, depth 5cm Plaque: Height 20cm, width 22.5cm, depth 0.5cm This beautiful English porcelain plaque is painted with a spectacular scene of a woman in flight with a flock of swans. The brightly colored painting is superbly executed, with fine and delicate brushstrokes employed the render the scene. The work, which is contained within an ornate giltwood frame, is signed lower right ‘W. A. Hawkins 1884’.
