Pair 19th Century French Hand Painted Porcelain Wall Platters Signed Vivien

About the Item

Decorate a kitchen wall, a breakfast room or a restaurant with this large and colorful pair of antique platters. Crafted in France circa 1870 and round in shape, both hand painted porcelain plates feature a still life composition depicting all the charm of France; the food! Both artworks are signed by the artist, Vivien. The first composition features a plate with six oysters on the half shelf on a farm table, with fresh cut lemon and a carafe of local white wine with a crystal glass surrounded by lush green foliage. The second platter displays a wheel of cheese under a glass bell, next to freshly rolled cigarettes, a jug of wine, and fruit displayed on a table cloth with floral plants in the background. The important chargers are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn colorful and vivid colors; they are further embellished with a band of gold leaf decor around the rim. Original hanging devises in the back for easy installation. 20" diameter
