Vintage Trio Of Porcelain Flower/Ring Hands

About the Item

Please take the time to read the entire description, as we aim to provide detailed technical and historical information to ensure the authenticity of our items. This is an original trio of porcelain hands, two white and one black, made between 1960 and 1965 in a specialized workshop in Milan. A mold was used to craft the terracotta hands, and artisans later applied a dipping technique to glaze them. The hands were then fired in a kiln to permanently set the glaze. This trio represents a minimalist and modern design inspired by the 1960s, a time when Italian art and design were heavily influenced by modernism and futuristic styles. As for their functionality, they may have been created as ring or jewelry holders, given the open-hand shape. The presence of a cavity in the palm might also suggest a decorative use, such as small vases. Another possibility is that they were simply meant as decorative pieces, typical of interior design from that era, when sculptural and surreal designs were highly popular. The items are in good condition. Measurements: 8 cm in diameter, 20 cm in height. For all our shipments, we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) to ensure the highest level of protection and safety for the objects.

Coalport Trio Porcelain Hand Painted Gilded Bold Imari Pattern, circa 1815
By Coalport Porcelain
Located in Lincoln, Lincolnshire
This is a very good quality TRIO of Coffee Cup, Tea Cup and Saucer that we attribute to the Coalport porcelain works, Shropshire, England, made during the George 111rd years, circa 1815. Both cups have the London or Grecian shape with all pieces beautifully boldly hand decorated in a very colourful Imari Chinoiserie pattern, popular at the time. All pieces are unmarked to the base. The pattern is beautifully hand painted in bold colors of burnt orange, green and cobalt blue, all in different shades with an "Imari" style floral pattern, all enhanced with gilded detail to the pattern, upper rim and outer handle. Both cups also have an inner rim border pattern. We date this set to the late George third...
