3rd quarter 19th century set of 8 coin silver teaspoons by Gorham, American. An elegant set in the "Josephine" pattern, designed by John Gorham & made by Gorham for Bigelow Brothers & Kennard, Boston. In the Empire taste with double struck anthemion motifs, it is one of the most elegant of early American patterns. For the Marsh family (engraved obverse). Stamped: "Pat. '55" "COIN". 7.25 troy oz. Typical bowl/tip wear given age & use. 6" x 1.25" x 7/8".
