About the Item
A fine and impressive pair of antique Victorian English sterling silver fruit spoons - boxed; an addition to our silver flatware collection.
These fine antique Victorian sterling silver fruit spoons have embossed shell shaped bowls onto tapering shafts.
One side of each shaft is embellished with impressive chased shell texture, to a matt stylized scrolling leaf ornamentation.
The plain faceted handles terminate with impressive chased decorated scallop shell motifs.
The impressive shell shaped bowl of each spoon features a diamond heel and retains the original gilded interior.
These antique spoons are fitted to the original hinged leatherette box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.
Condition
These Victorian fruit spoons are a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional condition. The spoons have been professionally polished and are in presentation condition. The box is also in presentation condition. The embossed and chased decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of each handle are all very clear.

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Victorian English sterling silver fruit serving set, boxed, an addition to our dining silverware collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver fruit serving set consists of a pair of fruit serving / berry spoons and a pair of grape shears.
Each piece has exceptional scrolling leaf decorated handles, accented with paralleling incurved borders, in addition to bright cut engraved geometric detailing.
The posterior surface of each piece is plain and unembellished.
The serving/berry spoons have elongated, rounded bowls embellished with exceptional chased floral and scrilling leaf ornamentation amidst bead borders; the outer rim of each spoon has a crimped finish.
The interior of each silver spoon bowl retains the original gilding.
The fine pair of antique Victorian sterling silver grape shears has a hinged scissor action.
The handles of the grape scissors reflect the identical ornamentation of that to the spoons, in addition to bright cut engraved rounded fingerpieces.
The circular hinged portion is embellished with a floral rosette design.
