20th Century Italian Solid Silver 800 Jug, Greek Replica
About the Item
800 solid silver jug made in Italy in the second half of the 20th century.
The jug is a replica of a Greek original.
The golden body is round where two figures, male and female, have been embossed and chiseled, receiving homage from the Goddess Athena.
The base is round and smooth. Two bands with a "Greek" motif were chiseled between the figures.
The upper part is embossed with flowers and leaves, typical of the period
The vase has some details where the antioxidant lacquer that has been put to guarantee its brilliance has been damaged.
The vase, at the request of the customer, will be delivered polished and completely re-lacquered.
Structural interventions should not be carried out as the vase has no dents.
Italian silverware, already with a centuries-old tradition, had a great development in the twentieth century and produced pieces of the highest quality that the whole world envies. Italian craftsmanship had a kind of new Renaissance after the war.
