About the Item

A fine and impressive antique George II English sterling silver waiter; an addition to our Georgian dining collection. This fine antique George II English sterling silver waiter has a plain circular shaped form onto three stepped hoof style feet. The surface of fine example of Georgian silverware is plain and unembellished. This swept Chippendale style shaped border is ornamented with applied moulded decoration to the rim. This exceptional example of antique silverware features no maker's mark; the maker is therefore unknown. Condition This antique sterling silver waiter is a very good gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent presentation condition. There are some natural fire marks to the surface of the waiter, in keeping with age. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the waiter are very clear. Reflections in photography may detract from the true representation of this piece of Georgian silverware.
