A fine and impressive antique George III English sterling silver helmet shaped creamer made by Peter and Ann Bateman, an addition to our Georgian silver teaware collection. This fine antique George III sterling silver cream jug has a helmet shaped form onto a pedestal with a circular spreading foot and plain square base. The upper portion of the body is ornamented with a broad band of bright cut engraved irregular undulating decoration. The body of the jug is embellished with a pin struck and bright cut engraved decorated shield shaped vacant cartouche suspended from a stylized ribbon design. The rim of the body is encompassed with an applied reed decorated border. He surface of the square base is embellished with further bright cut engraved and pin struck leaf motifs and simple paralleling border. This magnificent antique George V sterling silver jug has a circular rounded form onto a circular pedestal foot. The upper portion of this antique cream jug is embellished with an impressive applied strapwork band, in addition to a large fluted design to the underside of the lip, all in the Empire style. This exceptional example of antique silverware is fitted with an impressive cast spiralling handle accented with an impressive figural mask design. The circular spreading foot is embellished with further Empire style, architectural decoration.
