About the Item
Russian silver-gilt and niello beaker from the early 19th century, crafted in St. Petersburg in 1835. This elegant vessel features a classic tapering cylindrical form, with the body beautifully adorned in niello with intricate foliate scrollwork and a scenic architectural motif framed by star and geometric borders.
The niello work presents delicate blackened silver inlays that contrast strikingly with the gilded background, a signature element of Russian silversmithing from this period. The interior is lavishly gilded

Date mark "1835"
St. Petersburg city mark (anchor and crossed scepters)
