About the Item

Art Nouveau carafe made of clear glass with a round, upwardly tapering body, front and back two facet bands tapering from bottom to top, the lower, bulbous area enclosed by a fitting of interlocking, profiled bands that enclose openwork leaf tendrils and run into four small feet at the ends, J-shaped handle that connects the lower part of the mount with the beak-shaped spout decorated with leaf tendrils and openwork decoration, with a curved, hinged lid, at the very top a small ring as a thumb rest. Dimensions: height = 38.0 cm / 14.96 in width = 16.0 cm / 6.29 in depth = 14.0 cm / 5.51 in Hallmarks: WMF + ostrich + G in diamond - for WMF - Wuerttemberg metal goods factory, manufactory mark 1903-1019 B - Britannia Metal - tin containing alloy / I/O - normal thick silver layer / OX - oxidised Condition: very well maintained, cleaned and polished.
