About the Item

A fine 19th century French silver (.950 fine) porringer or écuelle, showing a circular bowl rising to neoclassical inspired 'reed & ribbon' decorated rim with pierced foliate cast handles, the rim & handles with an impressed Minerva mark denoting .950 parts silver. This fine example would also function quite well either as a tasetvin for wine or as a quaich for whisky. Dimensions .75" high x 6.5" wide (across the handles) x 4.5" diameter. Weight, 82 grams.
