A fine Regency Period / George IV sterling silver coffee pot of baluster form, bearing partially rubbed London hallmarks with date letter for 1819 and makers marks for William Bateman 1st above a heraldic crest.
Richly embossed overall with foliate & scrolled motifs and retaining its original carved fruitwood handle, raised upon a spreading circular foot with hand chased decoration.
Overall weight, 851 grams. William Bateman 1st (1774-1850) was the grandson of Hester & John Bateman and joined the highly esteemed Bateman family firm of silversmiths in 1815.
