It is even rarer to see a service of knife rests in French sterling silver. These objects are usually made of silver plate. Uncommon model neoclassical adorned with ribbons. No monograms. The set is presented with a box. Head of Minerve 1st titre for 950/1000 French sterling silver guarantee. Prestigious silversmith: Lapparra & Gabriel 157 rue du Temple - Paris was active from August 12, 1902 to December 26, 1923. Founded in 1893, Maison Lapparra, great silversmith, worked for the greatest jewelers of Place Vendo^me, the crowned heads and horse racing such as trophies for the "Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe or the "Prix du Jockey Club". With Odiot and Puiforcat, it remains one of only french silversmiths still active today. Measures: 2.76 (7 cm) length. 1.57 (4 cm) height Massive, weight: 452 grams. Total weight with box : 802 grams. The condition is very good for this set. Micro-scratches from normal use. A master silversmith made a complete cleaning and polishing. They do come in the box shown though it’s not original to the set.
