Large Antique English Oak and Sterling Silver Drinks Tray, 1902

About the Item

A very smart large serving / drinks tray; more usually found with silver plated fittings, this grand tray is fitted with solid English silver fittings fully hallmarked for Birmingham 190 The Oak base sits in a solid sterling gallery which in turn stands on four original bun feet. The centre of the Oak in inset with a large oval sterling silver vacant cartouch, also fully hallmarked. Edwardian in era and made by the well renowned silversmith's, J B Chatterley and Sons Ltd. Excellent condition spanning 28 1/2" handle to handle x 17 1/4" x 3" tall to top of large silver handles. Item: 44018 Free worldwide registered airmail directly from the UK.

A rare opportunity to acquire an Edwardian Oak tray with solid silver fittings, rather than silver plate usually found. Everything you see in "silver" is solid English silver, a good heavy gauge, there is a good weight of silver here, there are many hallmarks for Sheffield 1904 together with the maker's mark for the well renowned Martin Hall.
