About the Item

Florentine-Florenz sterling silver tazza compote. Made by Gorham in Providence, ca 1910. Round and plain well; wide shoulder with applied leaf-wrapped scrolled rim interspersed with scallop shells and leafing masks. Bellied support and domed foot on four scroll-mounted paw supports. Chased scroll frames (vacant) with garlands and fruit clusters. In the Renaissance Revival pattern that was designed by William Codman and first produced in 1901. Fully marked including maker’s stamp and code GHI. Heavy weight: 41.8 troy ounces.
