The coin is orignal and authentic minted 1780, the blade of the letter opener is sterling silver and hallmarked later addition, added in the 20th Century.
A well made sterling silver silver silver letter opener consisting of an authentic Austria Hungry Prague Holy Roman Empire Thaler, 1780 Silver Coin. Mounted on a later silver tapering blade.
Maria Theresa ruled Austria, Hungary, and Bohemia from 1740 to 1780 and is depicted on the coin she was the only woman to hold the position.
