About the Item

A very good vintage Elizabeth II English sterling silver caddy spoon modelled in the form of a jockey cap; an addition to our diverse teaware collection. This vintage Elizabeth II sterling silver caddy spoon is realistically modelled in the form of a jockey cap; the design is based on an original George III jockey cap style caddy spoon. The outer surface of the cap is encircled with embossed panels of ribbed decoration accented with stylised husk pendant drops. The peak of the cap is embellished with embossed star, bead and octofoil motif decoration on a ribbed background incorporating a vacant shield shaped cartouche. This unusual vintage silver caddy spoon will sit on either the convex or concave side of the bowl. Condition This vintage caddy spoon is a very good gauge of silver, fine quality and in exceptional presentation condition. The embossed decoration is very sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the surface of the rear of the bowl are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this piece of vintage silverware. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver caddy spoon has a plain rounded bowl. The surface of the bowl and upper portion of the handle have a planished finish. The handle is embellished with a cast and applied panel depicting a rose bush with a paralleling rope twist decorated border. The handle terminal is further ornamented with a scalloped border. This impressive antique 1920s silver caddy spoon was crafted by the renowned silversmith Henry George Murphy; the full hallmarks incorporate Murphy's Falcon Studio mark. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V Scottish sterling silver caddy spoon; an addition to our teaware collection. This exceptional antique George V Scottish sterling silver caddy spoon has a plain shovel shaped bowl. The handle terminal is embellished with a cast features depicting Celtic knots and interlacing designs, paralleling a mystical interlaced creature. The handle stem is further ornamented with a raised paralleling border, incorporating scrolling designs to either end. This impressive antique 1920s silver caddy spoon was crafted by the distinguished and collectable silversmith Alexander Ritchie of Iona, Scotland; the piece includes full Glaswegian hallmarks, in addition to identifying 'AR', 'Iona' and registration number RD NO 643267. Alexander was in the Merchant Navy and returned home once injured in a ship wreck. He returned home to help the family run hospitality business and married Euphemia Thomson; a prior student of the Glasgow School of Art. The couple expanded their love of art and Alex expanded his skill set from wood carving to metal work. Everything was made to the Ritchies' specifications and to a high standard. In 1937, Alex Ritchie's work was included in a prestigious Scottish Industries Exhibition on London. Condition This antique Scottish sterling silver caddy spoon is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The cast decoration is very sharp.
