An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Georgian English sterling silver Old English Thread and Shell fish slice / server made by Paul Storr; an addition to our silver flatware collection. This exceptional antique George III sterling silver fish slice / server has been crafted in the Old English Thread and Shell pattern. The anterior and reverse surfaces of the handle are embellished with thread decoration paralleling the shape of the handle and encompassing the rounded heel, in addition to an impressive shell design to the terminal. The anterior surface of the handle terminal is further embellished with the contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a dragon. The handle of this antique silver fish slice conjoins with the incurved blade with a rounded bolster to the anterior surface. The shaped blade is embellished with a paralleling floral festoon decorated border, in addition to impressive shaped pierced designs to the centre; the reverse surface of the blade is plain. This exceptional 19th century fish slice was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith Paul Storr. Condition This antique 19th century fish slice is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The engraved decoration is crisp and the pattern is sharp. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the blade are all very clear. Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this Paul Storr silver fish slice.
