An exceptional, fine and impressive, antique Victorian English sterling silver gravy spoon made by George William Adams; an addition to our silver flatware collection.
This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver gravy spoon has been crafted in the Victoria pattern.
The anterior and posterior surfaces of the waisted handle and shoulders are enveloped with scrolling leaf ornamentation with paralleling thread decorated borders to the stem.
The anterior surface of the terminal is further embellished with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a demi-lion holding in the paw a mullet
The spoon has an impressive scrolling leaf decorated heel to the reverse of the bowl.
This fine silver gravy spoon was crafted by the renowned and collectable London silversmith George Adams of Chawner & Co.

Condition
This antique sterling silver gravy spoon is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional presentation condition. Full hallmarks struck to the reverse of the handle are all very clear; the hallmarks are deeply struck due to the superior gauge of silver.

The pieces of this exceptional, antique Victorian straight* sterling silver flatware service for 12 persons have been crafted in the Fiddle, Thread and Shell pattern.
The surface of each handle is embellished with a paralleling thread decorated border accented with a shell design to the terminal and reverse of each bowl.
The anterior surface of each spoon and fork handle terminal are ornamented with a contemporary engraved crest of a leopard couchant guardant and collared.
The posterior surface of each piece is plain and unembellished, apart from a rounded heel to the bowl of each spoon.
