Magnificent large and rare English Sterling Silver Sporting Trophy Cup Centerpiece of generous proportions, with elaborate twin “C” handles, modelled in the Art Nouveau design.
The main outer upper circular bowl ending on a circular spreading base which is engraved FERNHILL PERPETUAL CHALLENGE CUP.
Mark of George Wish, Denmark Works, Norfolk Lane, Sheffield
Sheffield Hallmark for 1929.
Height: (entire overall as shown in image) 10.5” (26.5cm). Width: (across handles) 10.25" (26cm). Diameter: (top rim) 8.5” (21.5cms).
Total weight: an impressive 26.4ozs. (749grams).
Condition: Good condition with no losses, nice clear hallmarks, however this Cup is heavily engraved around back of all of the upper area, see images.
