An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Dutch silver straight flatware service for eight persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection. The pieces of this exceptional antique Dutch silver canteen of cutlery for 8 persons have been crafted in a plain rounded form, reflecting the Classic Old English pattern. The anterior surface of each fork and spoon handle features a pip to the terminal. This canteen of cutlery for 8 consists of 40 pieces: Basic service: Eight table forks Eight table spoons Eight dessert forks Eight dessert spoons Additional pieces: Pair of serving spoons Pair of serving ladles Pair of sauce ladles Soup ladle Serving fork The Dutch hallmarks struck to the dessert service and majority of the ladles include: Maker's mark: GZ - Gerritsen N.V. Ned. Silver quality/purity mark: Lion Passant mark with 2nd standard purity .833, 833/1000. Duty mark: Minerva head, B - Utrecht Date letter: L-1921 The table forks and spoons are crafted in the identical standard silver by Van Kempen in The Hague, 1920, whereas one serving ladle is crafted by C.L.J. Begeer in Utrecht, 1915. This flatware service can be purchased with sterling silver handled old English pattern knives if so desired. These impressive examples of antique silverware are supplied in felt cutlery rolls; which not only protect the items in storage but significantly reduces tarnishing. Condition This antique silver canteen of cutlery is an exceptional gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. Each piece has been professionally polished and is in presentation condition. Full Dutch hallmarks struck to the reverse. An exceptional, fine and impressive, rare antique Victorian English Britannia standard silver straight Trefid pattern flatware service for twelve persons; an addition to our canteen of cutlery collection The pieces of this exceptional, antique Victorian English Britannia* silver flatware service for twelve persons have been crafted in the Trefid pattern. The reverse surface of each silver spoon and fork handle terminal is embellished with a fine and impressive contemporary engraved crest depicting a bugle-horn stringed. Each Trefid spoon and ladle features a prominent and impressive, classic rat tail ornamentation to the reverse of the bowl. The original Britannia silver forks have three tines/prongs; these are highly desirable. The surface of each handle is embellished with a paralleling thread decorated border. The anterior surface of each handle terminal is ornamented with a contemporary bright cut engraved crest of a stag's head erased. The posterior surface of each piece is plain and unembellished, apart from a rounded heel to the bowl of each spoon and drop of each fork. This Victorian sterling silver flatware set consists of 66 pieces: 24 Table forks 12 Table spoons 12 Dessert forks 12 Dessert spoons 6 Serving spoons These exceptional example of antique silverware have been crafted by the collectable silversmiths William Eaton (in 1839-1841) and Elizabeth Eaton (in 1852).
