Stig Lindberg (1916–1982) was a Swedish ceramicist, artistic director, illustrator, and industrial designer who worked at the Gustavsberg porcelain factory from 1937 and served as its artistic director during 1949–1957 and 1972–1978. In the early 1960s, he created the colorful and whimsical Pynta series in flintware, which was produced from 1962 to 1965. The series included around 25 items—such as cups, bowls, plates, and butter dishes—decorated with stylized motifs like fish, bottles, lemons, cutlery, and fruit, reflecting a typical 1960s aesthetic. Although the Pynta series was not a commercial success at the time, it is now highly prized by collectors for its playful style and distinctive design.
