XX Century Italian Solid Silver Cruet - Basket with handles
About the Item
Solid 800 silver oval-shaped oil cruet.
The basket was made entirely by hand starting from a silver sheet and then embossed and chiseled with a design depicting a wicker basket.
On the lower and upper part, 2 round intertwined silver wires were soldered.
The handles were also obtained with a double intertwined wire.
The external finish is shiny and burnished.
Inside the body of the cruet, a "cage" has been positioned, also obtained with a double braided wire, suitable for containing the cut crystal cruets for oil and vinegar and 2 small baskets for salt and pepper with a 24kt gold internal finish.
Suitable for an elegant table in a prestigious country house or in a house with classic furnishings.
Made in Alessandria - Italy in the artisan silversmith's workshop "Silver Art," later incorporated into ARVAL ARGENTI VALENZA
