Antique Japanese Meiji/Taisho Shuzan Satsuma Porcelain Floral Tea Cup or Chawan
About the Item
A fine antique Satsuma ware porcelain teacup or chawan.
By Shuzan.
With a cream ground and an entirely gilt exterior covered with extensive floral decoration of various flowers in reds, blues, greens, yellows, and pinks.
The rim is gilt and has a brown border and footrim has a black border.
Marked to the base for Shuzan (秀山).
Simply a wonderful tea bowl or cup!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs.
Condition Details:
There are two spots of staining to the interior bowl, some very minor losses to the enamel decoration on the rim. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
