About the Item
This antique five piece tea set was made by Whiting & Co. of the United States and dates to approximately 1900 and done in a period Victorian style. The set is composed of sterling silver and is done in their signature "Repousse" pattern with elaborate floral and scroll decoration. The set includes a coffee pot, tea pot, covered sugar and creamer and open slop pot. Each of the pieces is clearly hallmarked with the Whiting maker's mark and sterling silver on the base.

This exceptional antique George V sterling silver tea service has been modelled in the Queen Anne style.
The lower portion of each piece is embellished with embossed batwing decoration.
The upper portion of each piece of this silver tea set is plain and unembellished.
The teapot is fitted with a hinged hallmarked cover embellished with further batwing decoration to the domed portion and is surmounted with the original carved painted wood and sterling silver fluted, cushion shaped finial.
