About the Item

Victorian sterling silver teapot with wooden handle. A very stylish and handsome Antique Victorian Sterling Silver teapot, having a very plain round straight-sided body, a straight tapering spout, a wooden scroll handle. The body is round with scrollwork engraving on the bottom and top, A crest with motto and lion has been engraved in the center. A frame engraved with the same motifs as the body has been made on the top of the teapot, while the lid is plain. The handle of the teapot is wooden, as is the knob of the lid. This antique silver teapot was made by Samuel Whitford of London in 1859

An exceptional, fine and impressive antique Edwardian Dutch sterling silver bachelor teapot; an addition to our silver teaware collection This exceptional antique Edwardian sterling silver bachelor teapot has a circular cushion shaped form onto four feet. The surface of the teapot is embellished with chased, large interlacing leaf motifs on a textured background; the leaf designs eminate from a plain starburst motif to the underside. The decoration to the body incorporates four cartouches, each displaying a simplified Dutch style rural architectural scene. The upper portion of the body is ornamented with a band of chased ribbed decoration below the plain swept shoulders. An exceptional, fine and impressive antique George V English sterling silver teapot in the Arts and crafts style; part of our diverse teaware collection. This exceptional antique George V sterling silver teapot has a compressed oval rounded form to a spreading foot. The body of this 1930s silver teapot has a subtly planished finish, all in the Arts and Crafts style. The body of this impressive teapot is encompassed with a plain applied moulded girdle. This George V teapot is fitted with an impressive hinged cover featuring an applied Arts and Crafts style cross design to the upper plateau. The cover retains the original carved, faceted finial, ornamented with inset silver components. This teapot is fitted with the original swept carved handle, ornamented with ribbed decoration to the thumbpiece. The upper socket of the handle is further ornamented with a cross design, reflecting that to the cover. The teapot features a plain, planished swan necked spout, accented with applied moulded ornamentation to either side. This exceptional example of Arts and Crafts silver teaware is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. Condition This antique 1930s silver teapot is a superior gauge of silver, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The interior of the teapot has been professionally cleaned and is ready for use. Full hallmarks struck to the underside of the foot and part hallmarks to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
