Nice and particular tete a tete coffee/tea service; the pieces are made of fine German white porcelain; they have elaborate and sophisticated decorations in pure gold on the edges; on the body of a cup is written in French "Toi", on the other "Moi" and on the creamer "Nous Deux", this explicitly indicates that the service is intended for the use of two people who love each other, precisely a "tete a tete" service! The cups are sized such that they can be used for both coffee and tea. The service was produced between 1948 and 1950 in Bavaria (Germany) as the marks on the objects indicate, by the Winterling company. The Winterling brothers were from the same family as Heinrich Winterling who owned a porcelain factory in Marktleuthen (Bavaria) as early as 1903. The company's history began here, in the heart of the so-called 'Fichtelgebirge' in the Upper Franconia region of Bavaria, where the seven Winterling brothers founded Winterling Bavaria in 1907 with a newly built porcelain production facility; the company specialized in coffee and tea services, complete tableware and gift items; in 1913 it had 250 employees, in 1930 400 and in 1937 600. It was a successful company with a high level of production until 1950 when it was transformed into a joint-stock company and the main shareholders were members of the Winterling family; All of the subsidiaries were renamed Gebruder Winterling AG and the brand names used up until then were changed. In addition to standard household products, the factory began to specialize in hotel porcelain and around 1977 employed around 700 workers; but this industrial production led to a slow decline until the company went bankrupt and closed down in 2000. Our small service belongs to the old and fine art production. The objects are in good condition. Measures cup diameter cm.11 height cm.6,5, saucer diameter cm.16, height cm.3, milk jug width cm.15, depth cm.10, height cm.13. For all our shipments we use special packaging materials (wooden crates, styrofoam, etc.) for maximum protection and safety of the objects.
