About the Item

A charming handmade storage piece in the form of a house with a chimney. Executed in the American Folk Art style, this is a charming piece that is both decorative and practical. The hinged front drops open to reveal a storage space within. The front roof is also hinged and can be opened. The exterior of the piece is hand painted showing a lovely front porch with brick, trellis and shrub accents. A cat sits on the front steps. I could see this by a cosy fireplace for storing kindling or simply as a lovely decorative object. Dimensions: Exterior: 22"w x 19"h x 13"d Interior: 18.5"w x 15.5"h x 10.25'd Condition: Good. Some minor scratches consistent with age and use. The paint is well retained and the piece opens without issue. Shows well, Ready to place.

Late 19th C., French Gothic Revival cabinet, with interior shelf and central door. Heavily adorned with carved panels to front and sides. The front is comprised of panels flanking a central door. To each side of the door are two beautifully carved panels. The door has brass hinges and escutcheon. It locks with the key retained.
