About the Item

This antique hand-carved wooden folk art pitcher is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in Scandinavia, likely Denmark, is approximately 1890 in a period Folk Art style. The pitcher is done in a softwood which has been carved in an oval shape and ornately decorated in a stylized swirled leaf motif separated by three dark bands. The handles are done with a circular ring, supported by accenting stylized leaves. The middle band has the name "Guerun A. Jonsson", which is most likely whom is was made for. The top is hinged and opens and closes well.
