Large Vintage Indigenous Canadian Lidded Birch Bark Painted Shoulder Basket

About the Item

This large hand-crafted basket is unsigned, but presumed to have originated from Canada and date to approximately 1970 and done in the period indigenous Canadian style. This lidded basket is composed entirely of Birch bark which has been hand-stitched and hand-painted with stylized flowers and animals, with a fitted lid and leather strap handle.
