About the Item

A unique and unrepeatable piece for collectors and film enthusiasts: this rare mannequin dedicated to Vittorio De Sica, one of the greatest Italian directors and actors of the 20th century, is an authentic testimony to Italian film history. Made for the 1939 film “Grandi Magazzini,” this vintage object represents De Sica's face, and was used as an original scenic element on the set. The mannequin was made of wood, with original fabric covering of the period, and De Sica's physiognomy was painted entirely by hand, with extraordinary attention to detail. To complete the structure, a red-painted iron base provides stability and stage presence. The object stands out for its distinctiveness: through internal mechanisms, the position of the bust, arms and hands can be adjusted, making it dynamic and highly expressive. As evidence of its cultural and historical value, this mannequin was exhibited at the official exhibition dedicated to Vittorio De Sica at the Cineteca di Bologna in January 2025, receiving great interest from critics, film historians and collectors. This mannequin is an absolute rarity, perfect for collectors of vintage Italian cinema, art galleries, museums or thematic environments where cinema is the protagonist. It is also a scenic piece of furniture for creative studios, exhibition spaces or libraries dedicated to film culture. Can be disassembled for easy shipping

Biagio Romeo Woman Sculpture, Signed 1996
By Romeo
Located in Milano, IT
Beautiful bronze and wood sculpture designed in 1996, fine Italian manufacture. SIGNED. The base is made of lacquered black wood. This form serves as a pedestal for the actual sculpture. The main body is represented by an entirely nude bronze woman, kneeling. The woman is seated on a rock, on which the artist's signature is carved. The woman is represented in a contorted position: in fact, she is seated with one knee on the ground, while her entire weight pivots on the other. With one arm she touches the ground to keep her balance while with the other she touches her head, as if she wanted to be photographed. The woman is completely naked and we can see this from her obvious breasts, but her bottom is also visible. The woman seems to represent a person who wants to be looked at, proudly showing herself in her nudity. A hymn to female nudity and to the beauty and harmony of the body. The sculpture is very beautiful and suitable for decorating classy areas. Bibliography: Biagio Romeo...
