Stunning Sergio Bustamante (Mexican Artist, 1949- ), Female Bust with Lizards, Ceramic And Mixed Media. Woman is holding a detachable face mask on a gold stick. Bustamante often combines surrealism and folk art. This sculpture likely explores themes of transformation, nature, and the interplay between human and animal forms all characteristic of Bustamante's work. The use of lizards could symbolize various things--an exploration of primal forces or a nod to the idea of adaptability and regeneration, as lizards are often associated with these qualities.
