About the Item

19th Century Toleware English Folk Art Candelabra An unusual and highly decorative one-off example of a late 19th Century folk art hand crafted English toleware hanging candelabra. In completely original condition but for a few light aged repairs across the attached arms. Hand painted with lots of hand-crafted hanging tassels as shown in the photos provided. Recently uncovered in a disused Cotswolds barn where it sat in a box for over 10 years when the owners first removed it from their new acquired cottage, we feel this is a lovely piece of English folk-art lighting and would lovely hung a cottage style hallway / room. Dimensions in inches: H 24” x W 25” x D 25” Age: Late 19th Century Origin: United Kingdom Condition: Aged This item shows natural wear and aging through obvious use over the years and being stored in a barn for many years, we have only wiped the item to keep its originality still intact. Surfaces are worn with flaked paint (that’s firmly attached). A few tassels are missing to the crown and one of the candle arms but not that noticeable as shown in the photographs provided. The toleware composition is imperfect in shape due to being hand crafted. Candle and hanging chain are not included as part of this sale.
