About the Item
This large and exquisite French Machine Age polished nickel bronze chandelier by Petitot epitomizes the elegance and innovation of the Art Deco period. Featuring six sizeable 8" diameter highly sculptural white art glass cups with polished and frosted surfaces. The chandelier creates a mesmerizing effect, whereby the glass dishes glisten and sparkle.
The nickeled bronze skyscraper armature is heavily machined and of very fine quality.
When viewed from below, the chandelier reveals a captivating spinning wheel , flower or star formation, embodying the dynamic symmetry that defines Art Deco. The glass also represents a matching similar motif.
The telescoping style of the central mount showcases the era's fascination with geometric forms and modernity; while the heavily machined, stepped, geometric arms end with a matching stylized fluted and stepped finial, and reflect the period's love for intricate yet streamlined design.
The trumpet shaped slide canopy adds a cohesive touch.
This piece is a stunning representation of 1920s and 1930s sophistication and craftsmanship, celebrating both technological progress and luxurious style.

In very good condition with original finish having slight mottling and shading of the natural patina. Miniscule and unnoticeable rough edges, air bubble or flea bite imperfections on glass. Rewired and ready to install.
