About the Item

Mid-Century Modern striped glass globe pendant by Peill & Putzler, Germany, 1970s. Handblown shade with frosted and darker clear stripes that create vibrant contrasts when lit. Brass-toned fitting, bakelite canopy, and original manufacturer’s label. One E27/E26 socket. Good vintage condition. Perfect for modern and eclectic interiors. A striking Mid-Century Modern pendant light by Peill & Putzler, Germany, dating from the 1970s. The handblown spherical glass shade features alternating frosted and clear vertical stripes, creating a refined play of light and shadow. The glass surface appears different when lit, with its striped pattern revealing vibrant contrasts and a dynamic glow across the globe. The original Peill & Putzler manufacturer’s label remains on the shade, underscoring its authenticity. Suspended from a brass-toned metal fitting with a bakelite canopy, the piece exemplifies the refined yet playful design language of the era. Dimensions: • Diameter: ca. 35 cm (13.8 in) • Height: ca. 68 cm (26.8 in) The fixture is fitted with one E27 socket (also compatible with E26 bulbs). In good vintage condition with light signs of age and use. We recently reclaimed five Venini balls lamps from the renovation of a palazzo in Florence. These 1960s Murano glass ball lights are clear with opaque white diagonal stripes. The murano glass balls are extremely special and are in perfect condition. The metal rods, ceiling rose and fittings are tarnished with age as can be seen from the photographs. The new owner will need to be happy with this level of tarnish or replace the metal work. The lights have their original wiring but may benefit from rewiring.
