About the Item
An elegant and large scale French Louis XVI st. mid 19th century giltwood floor lamp. The lamp is raised by a triangular mottled base with concave sides above half round supports. Above are impressive animal paws below a tripod scrolled base decorated by acanthus and rosettes. The attractive fut has richly carved bottom acanthus leaves below a spiral fluted design and smooth satin column. At the top of the column is a capital and a top circular spray with an egg and dart outer band. All original gilt. The lamp is finished with our signature Cedric DuPont Antique two tone pleated silk shade.
