About the Item

Boldly sculptural and strikingly contemporary, the Luminator floor lamp by Pietro Chiesa remains one of the most iconic lighting designs of the 20th century. Designed in 1933 for Fontana Arte, it was the first floor lamp to introduce the concept of indirect light emission, a radical innovation for its time. Its form is both minimal and dynamic: a slender, elongated shaft in brushed metal finish rises and opens like a trumpet to support an upturned cone that discreetly conceals the light source. The result is a soft, atmospheric glow that enriches the surrounding space without direct glare. This piece is a 1990s production from warehouse stock, in mint, never-used condition, and includes the original Fontana Arte label. With its clean lines and timeless surface treatment, it sits effortlessly in both vintage-inspired and contemporary interiors. Dimensions Base diameter: 30 cm (11.8 in) Top diffuser diameter: 22 cm (8.7 in)
