About the Item

Designed by Tommaso Cimini in the 1980s for Lumina, the Elle wall lamp is a refined example of Italian lighting that marries functional precision with sculptural clarity. Part of the celebrated Elle series, the wall-mounted version showcases the minimalist geometry and clean lines that defined much of Cimini’s work and Italian industrial design of the period more broadly. The lamp features a slim, linear stem with a rotating and height-adjustable arm, terminating in a directional shade that pivots with ease. Its flexibility allows for targeted or ambient lighting, while the built-in dimmer switch offers further control over the atmosphere. When in use, the circular design of the lamp head casts a subtle ring of light, a detail that elevates any space from purely functional to visually engaging. Crafted with Lumina’s hallmark attention to engineering and finish, the lamp is constructed from coated metal and built to last. It remains in great vintage condition, with light scratches on the stem and minor wear on the body, consistent with age and careful use. Founded in 1975, Lumina quickly earned a reputation for high-performance lighting with a strong design ethos, and the Elle series remains one of its most iconic offerings. The wall-mounted version, in particular, is less commonly seen, making it a compelling find for collectors and design enthusiasts alike. Versatile and architecturally elegant, this piece lends itself well to modern, postmodern, or even industrial interiors, equally suited for reading corners, workspaces, or ambient accent lighting.
