About the Item

Large hourglass wall or ceiling lamp designed by Bobo Piccoli and produced by Fontana Arte in the 1970s. The lamps consists of a polished white square glass diffused with frosted sections and a white lacquered metal structure. Each lamp holds four light bulbs Bobo Piccoli was born in 1927 into a family of Milanese intellectuals. In 1968 he began working for FontanaArte in a contemplation of the relationship between art and serial products. Piccoli created a number of lighting elements inspired by minimalist shapes. he was always interested in light in art and in architecture, in cinema and theatre. The lamp is in very good vintage condition.
