About the Item
For your consideration is this French bronze réduction mécanique of Jean Goulon's caryatids at the Louvre. The bronze rests upon a black marble base and is topped by a candelabra with wood faux candles. The ruched fabric shade has a 4" fringe and creates a moody warm glow. Also available without shade at a discounted price.
Achille Collas (1795–1859) was a French engineer, inventor, writer and engraver who in 1836 invented a pantograph-like machine to copy sculptures at a smaller scale, the so-called "réduction méchanique."
