About the Item

Exquisitely handcrafted by Amitābha Studio in Amsterdam from a pair of vintage Royal Delft Blue vases—hand-painted in 1978 and 1979 by master artisans—this one-of-a-kind duo of table lamps is a celebration of timeless Dutch artistry. Each lamp pairs a historic vase base with a custom drum lampshade in luminous light green silk, adorned with a matching passementerie trim. The cobalt blue twisted electric cords echo the deep hand-brushed blues of the vases, creating a visual harmony between base and shade. De Porceleyne Fles, later given the distinction of Koninklijke or Royal, known now as Royal Delft, is a Dutch manufacturer of Delft Blue pottery. Established in 1653 in Delft, Netherlands, it is the only remaining ceramics factory out of 32 that were established in Delft during the 17th century. With over 360 years of uninterrupted activity, Royal Delft is highly respected for its artistry, drawing inspiration from Chinese porcelain motifs of the Ming and K'ang Hsi dynasties. Each lamp was created without harming the original vases in any way. ⸻ Please note: The lamp is fully wired for use in the U.S, as well as the EU and the UK. Additionally, the listed height includes the lampshade. We also ensure compatibility for global use by offering a free plug customization service to match the electrical standards of your specific country. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! ⸻ About Amitābha Studio: Amitābha Studio is a design atelier dedicated to transforming historic European ceramics into one-of-a-kind lighting objects. Each lamp is crafted with deep reverence for the original form, using non-invasive methods that preserve the integrity of every antique or vintage vase. We pair these bases with bespoke lampshades—often made from luxurious textiles such as vintage sari silks or fine European fabrics—and finish each piece with carefully selected cords, fittings, and handmade brass elements. Our work is guided by a commitment to sustainability, cultural heritage, and timeless design.
